Balayage
Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. ‘It’s a freehand hair colouring technique that gives a truly blended natural look with no harsh or obvious regrowth lines. The resulting highlights add dimension and depth to your hair making it look like it has been kissed by the sun’ advises Tatiana Gamboa, Founder of Hair Addictz Studio.
Imagine if the sun could precisely place thin blonde stripes on our hair in such a natural way that it would add beautiful high-lighted pieces to frame your face and add a natural glow. That is what Balayage does. Tatiana takes small sections of hair and places it on a backing board. She then freehand paints with a lightener or colour. Once that very precise step is complete Tatiana will then place cotton, paper OR plastic wrap delicately around the coloured sections to separate them and allow them to dry. After a natural, multi-tonal look is created, the strands of light and shade add depth and dimension. Tatiana can target grey strands more precisely avoiding a single process colour that can be more damaging to the overall hair shaft. Balayage is low maintenance and it can range from subtle to extreme depending on the customers preference. Balayage is only up-kept 3-4 times a year and there are no harsh or obvious regrowth lines therefore it means that you can wait longer between appointments.
